2017 World Baseball Classic
The 2017 WBC pitted the worlds best players against each other as they represented their home country (or in some cases, country of heritage). The Dominican Republic were back to defend their title, with many worthy challengers ready to usurp them, including: 2 time champion Japan, the last tournament runner up Puerto Rico, and the home of baseball United States.
Pool play featured several of the favorites advancing, and also included surprise upstart Israel storming to victory in their group. By time the final rounds of action however, Japan had humbled Israel and the US upset the defending champs and sent them packing. After shocking Japan in the semis, the Americans completed their first WBC title run with a decisive victory over Puerto Rico.
Following are every WBC participant who also had a 2017 MLB season for the Bot to create a card with. China and Cuba featured no MLB players.
