2017 World Baseball Classic [Part 3]

Puerto Rico finished 2nd to the Dominican Republic last time. In 2017, they hit the ground running by sweeping their pool in round 1 with a combined score of 29-7. Round 2 pitted them in a rematch from the previous finals where they finally topped the Dominican Republic 3-1, then they squeaked by the United States 6-5. Finally, they destroyed Venezuela 13-2.

In the semi-finals, they needed 11 innings but ultimately beat out the Netherlands, punching their return ticket to the finals. Their journey to finally win in the finals ended, this time by Marcus Stroman and the US, paying them back and then some for the previous meeting in the tournament.

Molina was one of the pool MVPs, so to honor that achievement , he'll get the Super Season designation. Not his best defense, but a great chart for any hitter.

Another MVP from Puerto Rico. Just like Molina, acceptable defense and a great chart. Switch hitter strategy cards should do even more for that 8 on-base.

Not thrilled about that on-base, but I love the power he brings. A dangerous late game bench option.

I made a Beltran card, but found a better pic so I made a new card and the Bot had made an update in the meantime and gave him a higher speed than what he previously had. Apparently the difference between a B and C speed is 30 points.
On-base is still too low to take a gamble for Beltran.

You can easily talk yourself into putting Jose at the back end of your rotation.

Card is illegal due to trash can related reasons...
That defense is real though.

Oh...that 15+ allowing runners AND homer potential? Big NO.

Hope you like strikeouts, cuz Diaz makes it RAIN strikeouts!

My Venezuela team had a couple centerfielders with B speed that I said aren't worth it with low on-base. Fuentes brings that required A speed to the equation. Chart could be better, but his speed is the main reason he's getting any consideration.

Kiki is a decent utility player if you're willing to sacrifice his chart for fewer hits yet better extra base potential.

If your control is 0, then you better get out of here with both doubles allowed AND 18+ hits.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. I don't care what kind of control you bring, that is one UGLY chart.

Eh, 5 innings would be easier to deal with if he had more control. Chart doesn't blow me away either way.

I'd see myself taking some chances with Pagan...just none with the game in doubt.

Lots of pop in his chart and just LOOK at that +10 arm! A must bench option if your opponent has some serious speed waiting for the late innings.

Not really an option with the other catchers Puerto Rico offers. Weakest arm and less pop in his bat than others. 6 on-base doesn't help.

That power makes up for his 0 defense, but the on-base of 7 is a deal breaker for me all things considered.

Again with the low control and only 5 innings...not gonna happen for you either, Hector...

Good defensive option off the bench. Gotta love those scrappy bench guys who don't settle for walks. Nice trade off to make up for the 7 on-base.

Homer power and solid +1 defense. I just can't justify him though cuz he is easily replicated by superior first basemen.
