Baseball Election 2024

For those of you who are not from the United States, we here pick our president with a vote every four years. The candidates have been chosen (mainly through primary votes, though one side hand picked theirs by party leadership) and on November 5th, America will cast their votes (and perhaps this time there won't be any...irregularities in the counting process)

But that's boring.

Let's see what baseballs version of these candidates look like...

...Think of it as picking who is team captain.

-President Donald Trump, Republican for President

Meet Chadwick Tromp, the inspiration for this idea. Tromp isn't political, and changed his number a few times in his short tenure, as is normal for guys who bounce back and forth from the minors early in their career. Tromp ruffled a few feathers when he chose #45 for this season, which as a coincidence coincided with the 45th president of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump.

-JD Vance, Republican for Vice President

Every front runner needs a solid running mate, and what better option is there than a Starter to match with a Catcher? Vance can go the distance, is an MVP, 20 game winner, regular K champion, why isn't Dazzy leading the ticket?

-Joe Biden, former Democrat candidate for President

Let's Go Brandon. Someone who found some use back in the late 2000s, we all know he couldn't stand on his own.

-Kamala Harris, Democrat for President

Stop me if you've heard of this type of player. Somewhat useful utility player, can be plugged into various roles without making too much of a flash, but you should NEVER make them your starter.

-Tim Walz, Democrat for Vice President

TIM WALlach works great with Harris on the ticket. A blue team, takes a similar position to his running mate, makes up for a few deficiencies but won't upstage Harris...and Minnesota is so close to Canada that it isn't too much a stretch to represent him with an outdated Canadian team.

-Chase Oliver, Libertarian for President

Not every state will feature an Oliver to vote for, which is fitting since the original Showdown cards didn't feature Oliver in their set. Forgettable candidate for your team.

-Jill Stein, Green for President

Heck yeah, original Seattle Mariners design. I think Jill Stein has been running to be president since Bill Stein was playing.

-Robert Kennedy Jr, former Independent for President

If you thought B/Jill Stein was perfect, wait until you meet an actual Bob Kennedy. Not an awful choice based on the era he comes from, but better choices exist, which describes Kennedy's presidential run. Currently teaming up with Tromp to rule the baseball landscape.

-Cornel West, Independent for President

I haven't heard too much about West, but apparently he isn't a good idea and won't win (obviously) so let's highlight a West who also didn't win.
